Matron & Patron (Boarding Section)
Wisdom School Musanze is a rapidly growing Christian day and boarding school committed to academic excellence, character formation, discipline, and holistic child development. We are seeking passionate, caring, responsible, and highly disciplined individuals to join our Boarding Department as:
- Matron – Girls’ Boarding Section
- Patron – Boys’ Boarding Section

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Providing day-to-day supervision, care, and guidance to boarding students.
- Ensuring the safety, health, security, and overall well-being of all boarders.
- Promoting discipline while fostering respect, responsibility, integrity, and positive character.
- Monitoring students’ attendance, study schedules, meal times, and bedtime routines.
- Providing pastoral care, counselling, and emotional support to students.
- Assisting students in adjusting to boarding life while ensuring compliance with the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
- Preventing and addressing bullying, violence, abuse, substance misuse, and other forms of misconduct.
- Maintaining accurate records of disciplinary cases, health incidents, and student welfare.
- Ensuring dormitories remain clean, organized, safe, and conducive to learning and rest.
- Working collaboratively with the Head of Boarding, school administration, teachers, school nurse, and parents.
- Responding promptly and appropriately to emergencies and reporting incidents according to school procedures.
- Ensuring students comply with school rules, boarding regulations, and daily routines.
- Promoting excellent personal hygiene and healthy living practices.
- Supervising evening prep, morning and evening roll calls, weekend activities, and holiday boarding programmes.
- Monitoring visitors and ensuring adherence to school security procedures.
- Serving as a trusted mentor, role model, and responsible adult for all boarding students.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- A minimum of an Advanced Level Certificate (A2). A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience in a boarding school, child care institution, or youth development programme is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated integrity, emotional maturity, and sound moral character.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and on-call when required.
- Willingness to reside on campus.
