Key Responsibilities
The successful School Principal will provide overall leadership for the school by ensuring high academic standards, effective administration, and a safe learning environment.
Academic Leadership
- Lead implementation of Rwanda’s Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC)
- Improve learner performance through effective instructional leadership
- Supervise teaching and classroom practices
- Mentor and coach teachers for continuous professional development
- Promote learner-centered teaching strategies
School Administration
- Oversee daily school operations
- Coordinate administrative activities
- Ensure efficient resource utilization
- Maintain accurate school records
Financial Management
- Develop annual operational and financial plans
- Prepare and manage school budgets
- Monitor expenditure and accountability
- Promote financial sustainability
Human Resource Management
- Supervise teachers and support staff
- Conduct staff performance evaluations
- Build a positive and collaborative working culture
- Facilitate professional development programs
Student Welfare
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly school environment
- Implement child safeguarding policies
- Promote positive discipline
- Monitor attendance, well-being, and learner support
Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with local authorities and education stakeholders

Strategic Leadership

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Education

- Or another closely related discipline

Required Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
- At least five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in education
- Experience managing a Primary School or Kindergarten
- Proven ability to improve academic performance
- Experience supervising teachers and managing school operations
