The King Faisal Hospital Rwanda Foundation (KFHRF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Rwanda, has announced six new job opportunities in Rwanda for qualified professionals interested in contributing to national health research and innovation.
These positions are part of the Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Nutrition and Health (MNCNH) Innovation Impact Project, a major initiative aligned with Rwanda’s Health Sector Strategic Plan V (2024–2029).
The project focuses on evaluating high-impact health interventions such as:
- Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS)
- Calcium Supplementation
- Intravenous Iron Therapy
- Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) Bundles
- Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)
These interventions aim to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes in Rwanda and strengthen healthcare systems nationwide.

KFHRF is recruiting talented professionals for the following six positions:
- Clinical Field Supervisor

Below are the detailed descriptions of each position.

1. Clinical Field Supervisor (2 Positions)
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📑 Contract: Full-time – 3 years
👤 Reports to: Research Coordinator
Job Overview
The Clinical Field Supervisor will oversee clinical implementation of maternal and neonatal health interventions across selected hospitals and health centers in Rwanda. The role ensures that healthcare providers follow national clinical guidelines, research protocols, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct supervisory visits to hospitals and health centers.
- Monitor implementation of interventions including MMS, calcium supplementation, IV iron therapy, PPH bundles, and POCUS.
- Identify gaps in clinical documentation and case management.
- Mentor healthcare providers and improve quality of maternal and neonatal services.
- Support training and professional development of health workers.
- Ensure accurate reporting of adverse events and study outcomes.
- Coordinate with the project research team for data quality and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Professional license to practice in Rwanda (preferred).
- Experience in maternal and neonatal health programs or research.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge in maternal and neonatal health.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
2. Data Manager
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📑 Contract: Full-time – 1 year (renewable)
Job Overview
The Data Manager will oversee the data infrastructure of the MNCNH research project, ensuring high-quality data collection, integration, and analysis across multiple digital health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the project Data Management Plan.
- Manage centralized research databases.
- Integrate datasets from systems such as:
- DHIS2
- REDCap
- eBuzima
- MediSoft
- WelTel
- Conduct data quality checks and validation.
- Maintain data security and compliance with Rwanda’s data protection laws.
- Support dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Collaborate with statisticians and researchers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Health Informatics.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience managing health or research datasets.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, R, or statistical software.
3. Project Manager
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📑 Contract: Full-time – 1 year (renewable)
Job Overview
The Project Manager will coordinate the operational, financial, and administrative implementation of the MNCNH project while ensuring compliance with donor and government regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project work plans and implementation schedules.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and audits.
- Coordinate procurement and logistics activities.
- Organize stakeholder meetings and training sessions.
- Monitor project progress and risk management.
- Support monitoring and evaluation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Public Health, Finance, or Administration.
- Experience managing donor-funded health projects.
- Strong knowledge of Rwanda’s public financial management systems.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (MER) Consultant

Job Overview
The MER Consultant will lead monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems for the project, ensuring accurate tracking of results and effective reporting to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop monitoring and evaluation tools and frameworks.
- Coordinate monthly monitoring activities across project sites.
- Conduct data quality assurance.
- Prepare quarterly and annual project reports.
- Support dissemination of research findings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Global Health, or Community Health.
- 4–5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience in donor reporting and research documentation.
5. Research Coordinator
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📑 Contract: Full-time – 1 year (renewable)
Job Overview
The Research Coordinator will lead the scientific implementation of this national research initiative and ensure high-quality methodology, data analysis, and policy translation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design research protocols and methodologies.
- Supervise clinical field teams and researchers.
- Ensure ethical compliance with Rwanda National Ethics Committee.
- Lead data analysis and interpretation.
- Publish research findings and policy briefs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Data Science.
- Medical degree or PhD is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of research experience.
- At least two peer-reviewed publications in maternal and child health.
6. Technical Assistant
📍 Location: Kigali, Rwanda
📑 Contract: Full-time – 1 year (renewable)
Job Overview
The Technical Assistant will support implementation of nutrition-related research interventions within maternal and neonatal health programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research implementation across health facilities.
- Monitor adherence to study protocols and nutrition standards.
- Provide technical mentorship to facility staff.
- Support data analysis and reporting.
- Assist with preparation of research publications and policy briefs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nutrition, or Nursing.
- Experience in maternal and neonatal health research preferred.
- Familiarity with digital health data systems and statistical tools.
