Finance & Administration Internship at GIZ Rwanda — 2026 Intake
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Rwanda invites motivated candidates to apply for a Finance & Administration Internship in Kigali. This opportunity offers practical exposure to financial management, administrative coordination, digital process systems, and program operations within an internationally recognized development organization.
GIZ operates globally to support sustainable development and currently implements projects across Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region in economic development, governance, digital transformation, and climate initiatives.
Internship Responsibilities
Selected interns will support financial and administrative operations, including:
- Providing logistical coordination for program activities
- Organizing and maintaining administrative and financial records
- Supporting accounting and receivables management
- Reviewing supplier invoices for compliance and accuracy
- Assisting in development of financial SOPs and workflow processes
- Supporting process improvement and documentation initiatives
- Optimizing commercial and reporting procedures
- Maintaining digital knowledge management systems
- Supporting monitoring & evaluation activities
- Assisting advisors with programme management tasks
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Eligibility & Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled or recently graduated (within 6 months) in:
Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Required Skills & Competencies
Ideal candidates demonstrate:
- Strong MS Office and accounting software proficiency
- Critical thinking and process improvement capability
- Organizational and time management skills
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English (French is an advantage)
- Adaptability, professionalism, and willingness to learn
Preferred Experience
Advantageous qualifications include:
- Exposure to financial management or procurement processes
- Internship or NGO experience
- Familiarity with multinational working environments
- Advanced academic credentials in finance or administration
