The Government of Brunei Darussalam is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 academic session for international students. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites foreign students to apply for the Brunei Darussalam Scholarship, offering opportunities for study at various levels, including Diplomas, Undergraduate Degrees, and Postgraduate Master’s Degrees, at renowned Brunei universities.

- Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA)
- Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB)
- Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB)
- Politeknik Brunei (PB)
Eligibility Criteria:
- For Undergraduate and Diploma programs, applicants must be no older than 25 years of age by July 1st of the year their course starts.
- For Postgraduate Master’s Degree programs, applicants must be no older than 35 years of age by July 1st of the year their course begins.
- Proficiency in English is required, with a minimum of a Credit 6 at the GCE ‘O’ Level, a Grade ‘C’ in IGCSE English (as a second language), or an IELTS score of at least 6.0, or a TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
Scholarship Benefits:
The scholarship covers the following benefits for recipients:
- Full tuition fee exemption (including acceptance, registration, examination, and orientation fees) for the entire duration of the program.
- An economy class air-ticket to Brunei Darussalam from the student’s home country before the course begins and an economy class return ticket upon completion of the program.
- A monthly personal allowance of BND$500.00.
- A monthly meals allowance of BND$150.00.
- An annual book allowance of BND$600.00.
- Accommodation at the residential college of the university or polytechnic.
- Baggage allowance for the shipping of personal items to the student’s home country upon completion of the program:
- BND$250.00 for ASEAN countries.
- BND$500.00 for non-ASEAN countries.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage for the entire duration of the scholarship. Recipients are encouraged to obtain additional personal insurance prior to traveling to Brunei Darussalam at their own expense.
